Afganistan
As the planes took off from Kabul in August 2021, we began to plan a way to help. By the time we got the first call two months later, we had filled seven storage spaces in Dallas and Fort Worth with furniture and furnishings
From that time on our volunteers have delivered food every Saturday to new arrivals in Dallas, met with families to access their needs, and delivered furniture and furnishings. We network with several organizations that help with other services which includes assuring refugee paperwork is in order.

Syria
We are networking with another small organization to provide food and education for several families in one part of Syria. These families were clearly self-supporting until the war began. They are now working their same jobs but because of the political situation, many are only able to buy water. Others can buy water and bread but not more. The key to LIAI giving this kind of help is having people on the ground in Syria who share our vision.
