Kosovo

We have made three trips to Kosovo since the war ended in 1999. Four 40-foot containers of aid have been shipped to Mother Teresa, the Trauma Center, and the Medical Centre of Pristine. Several patients have come to the U.S. for medical treatment. Plans are underway for a medical team to return to Kosovo.

Four of us traveled to Kosovo soon after the war to ascertain their needs and how best to help.  The picture to the right is a couple who hosted us in what was left of their home, (one small room).  They cooked our meal on a little stove beside the only seating.  In spite of their tremendous loss, they spent no time on sadness.  They immediately went to work to rebuild, after we returned to the U.S. they discovered an undetonated-bomb in their backyard.
